Hong Kong’s Mark Six Chinese New Year Snowball Draw will offer a record first division prize fund of up to HK$150 million in order to attract more bettors, equaling the average winnings from one HK$10 ticket. Tickets go on sale beginning January 25 and the draw will take place February 2; its first draw will be held February 2. HKJC also plans on adding a Jackpot (Duo Bao Jiang), giving an additional chance for someone to walk away with a substantial sum should no winner emerge for first prize.

It serves as an inspiration for young scientists to continue innovating while making an impactful contribution while simultaneously highlighting Hong Kong as a centre of scientific research and innovation.
BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize is overseen by the Board of Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation, consisting of both a Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team. Its purpose is to suggest important scientific research fields for THE PRIZE; set requirements for nominating experts; oversee review/selection process and manage its Charter to promote professional, standardized management of THE PRIZE.
Unfortunately, due to various circumstances beyond their control, they had to leave. It has since become one of the primary sources of their income and livelihood. On Friday at the Great Hall of the People, Secretary for Education, Youth and Cultural Affairs Eddie Ng announced that Hongkonger Dr. Lam Chi-kuen has won the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences (commonly referred to as the Oscars of science). His discovery that fetal DNA can be detected in maternal blood permitted prenatal testing for trisomy 21. He noted that Hong Kong’s achievements in science and technology, along with its commitment to further global scientific progress under its “one country, two systems” policy are recognized through this award. He appealed to the public to support Hong Kong’s research endeavors and encouraged Hongkongers to share their achievements with others around the globe. Over 4,000 guests were present for this event. As part of the ceremony, five scholars received honorary awards. Reputable scholars were chosen by an independent panel of judges based on their research achievements, community contributions and influence on Hong Kong’s development. One Hong Kong student also won a Global Scholar for Hong Kong Award with this prize providing access to one of America’s premier universities for study purposes – this ceremony was recorded and broadcast live!
